About Country Heart Corgis

Ranching in Rural America for Over a Century

My heart has always been in the country, and corgis have become a much loved part of my life and my family's life. Over the last century, we focused our passion and energy into raising Angus cattle. This year, that passion and focus has expanded. Every member of my family is an animal lover with soft hearts, but dogs especially are close to our hearts.

With head tilt, a tail wiggle, or corgi waddle this breed will take hold of your heart. Around here we call them ground rockets, because for a creature with such short legs they are surprising fast.

CHC Sassy Lady

CKC Registered

In 2018, Sassy joined Coon Angus Ranch and with her, my dream of raising Corgis began. When I hear that age old phrase, "Dog is man's best friend," I think of this sweet girl. Sassy is an indoor dog, who loves her outdoor time! Over the last 4 years of her life, she has gone everywhere with me. As a teacher, she went to school events, running from kid to kid with a happy hello. On kayaking trips, Sassy rides point in her pink lifejacket. However, her favorite place like mine is the farm. With green grass race tracks, cows to herd, and creeks/ponds to swim this dog is in her happy place.

CHC Duke of Royce Ridge

CKC Registered

But pets always need a buddy right? Duke joined our happy little crew in 2021. Duke is our true lap dog and food lover. If you have something cooking on the stove. This guy will happily be your kitchen floor mop. This crazy guy will leap into your lap for a moment of cuddle time. He is your heated blanket whenever you take a seat on the couch. With his Merle colored coat, and his one blue, one brown eye this guy can weasel is way into your heart in less than a minute.  Duke loves his family, traveling, and a has a big heart.  He is gentle and incredibly friendly. As a puppy, he has chewed on one or two shoes, but no matter what you never stay mad at this guy for long. With a tail between his legs he will not hide, but rather he will walk toward you, wiggle his head under your hand and (without teeth) nibble your hand. Until finally, you notice his little tail wiggle, chuckle, and begin to pet his ears.

CHC Countess Mazie

When you have two corgis, what's one more? Mazie also joined the Coon Family's Corgis in 2021. She is my grandfather's chore buddy and constant companion. She spends her days riding shotgun and walking with my grandfather. This little gal is a colorful addition to the crew. Along with her tri colored coat, she also sports one blue/one brown eye. In addition her physical color, she brings a mighty colorful personality to the table. She is our snuggle bug who loves to cuddle up in warm laps and soft blankets. Although on the flip side of her personality, Mazie loves to swim and isn't afraid to wade into the pond on a fifty degree day.  One of her favorite activities is being rubbed dry with a towel.   She adds a degree of humor to the farm life because while she is the smallest of our three corgis, she somehow manages to be the fastest and possibly the most playful/intelligent of all our dogs.
